Accessibility Statement

Standard we target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA on this website. We describe this as a target rather than a certified conformance claim, because we have not commissioned an independent audit.

Measures taken

• Semantic HTML with a single main heading per page and a logical heading order.
• All interactive elements reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
• Text and interface colour combinations checked against the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios.
• Form fields with associated labels, required-field indication, and error messages linked to the field they describe.
• Layout that reflows without horizontal scrolling from 360 pixels wide upward and at 200 percent zoom.
• Meaningful alternative text on images that convey information, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
• Motion limited to short, subtle transitions that respect the reduced-motion preference in your operating system.

Known limitations

Code examples in our articles are presented in a horizontally scrollable block, which can be awkward on very narrow screens. We are looking at a better pattern for this.

Where a page links out to a third-party platform, we cannot control the accessibility of that destination.

Accessibility in client work

Accessibility is part of our standard build and QA process rather than an upsell: semantic structure, keyboard operability, contrast checking and labelled forms are included in every website engagement. Where a client needs a formal audit or a specific legal conformance statement, we will say so during scoping and arrange it explicitly.
